高松 太一郎 / Taichiro Takamatsu
Taichiro Takamatsu, who studied tailoring at Savile Row in London, where the word suit, in Japanese, “sebiro” originated, and has worked for some of the world’s most prestigious maisons, is responsible for the development of Rakudo-an’s loungewear designs.The striking horizontal lines that enter the comfortable linen material are inspired by the horizontality of the dispersed settlements of the Tonami Plain.
Taichiro, TAKAMATSU
2004: Moves to the UK Trained in tailoring techniques at Gieves&Hawks, London. After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, he participated in Eri Matsui Japan as a designer. He has also created many works to be exhibited in the Tokyo Collection.
2013: Moves to Italy. He joined PRADA tailor team and Dolce&Gabbana Sartoria team as a tailor, then joined a maison in Paris as a couture tailor.
2022: Independent. After working in the maisons of the authentic fashion world, he is one of the few tailors in Japan who create women’s and men’s clothing with one-of-a-kind tailoring techniques, and he creates reliable clothes that meet the needs of his customers. As for his own activities, he creates artworks with the motto “for the people of today and beyond 100 years” by utilizing Japanese craft techniques.
